Total Energy Solutions is named Small Business of the Year

A family-run commercial energy firm has been crowned Small Business of the Year by Devon Chamber of Commerce.

Total Energy Solutions was awarded the accolade at a glittering award ceremony at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel on September 16.

Founded in 2007, Total Energy Solutions is run by husband and wife team, Alastair and Kathryn Carnegie, and has seen a six-fold turnover increase (504%) in eight years.

Since the outset, the company has built itself on hard work, excellent customer service and is committed to corporate social responsibility. A percentage of its profits are donated to charity and staff are actively encouraged to devote time to support charitable organisations.

In the last year alone, Total Energy Solutions has undergone a new office refit, a complete computer system upgrade and taken on two new members of staff.

Alastair said: “We are delighted to be named Small Business of the Year and it is a credit to our small team. The way they have dealt with the growth of the business over the last year has been exceptional.”

Kathryn added: “We were up against strong competition but are delighted to have won this award. It has been an exceptionally busy year for Total Energy Solutions and it is testament to our hard working team.”

The Devon Chamber Awards were created to celebrate the ‘fantastic contribution’ that Chamber member businesses make to the local economy.

Following on from their success, Total Energy Solutions will now be invited to enter the British Chamber of Commerce Awards, the winners of which will be announced at a gala dinner at the Brewery in London in November.

Total Energy Solutions help to drive down energy bills for organisations from a wide range of sectors including business, farming, education, care, manufacturing, retail, tourism and leisure.
