Shortlisted for four national energy awards

Business utilities experts at Cornwall-based Total Energy Solutions are celebrating after being shortlisted for four national energy awards.

Family-run Total Energy Solutions, which has its headquarters at Stoke Climsland near Callington, is down to the final few in four categories at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA), the most prestigious national energy awards in the energy consultancy calendar.

The Cornish energy experts are shortlisted for the Do the Right Thing Award, Wellbeing and Diversity Award, Most Trusted SME Consultancy, and the top award for a business its size, SME Consultancy of the Year.

Managing Director Ali Carnegie took over the business with his wife Kathryn 14 years ago and since then they have worked hard to build an enviable reputation for Total Energy Solutions throughout the West Country and the rest of the UK.

There are now seven people in the team supporting businesses throughout the country to get the best deals for their energy use from suppliers and to help them manage their energy use, billing and new installations.

Clients include major care home groups like Signature, the Theatre Royal in Plymouth and The Eden Project in Cornwall.

Ali said: “To be shortlisted for Consultancy of the Year and Most Trusted Consultancy is a real endorsement of the work we have done to build up this business.

“For the judges to say that we are among the most trusted energy consultancies in the UK, as well as being one of the best, is a massive vote of confidence in the way that we work, the way we look after our clients and the way we put so much back into the communities where we are based.”

Total Energy Solutions gives 10 per cent of its profits every year to local charities, and team members are encouraged to spend some of their working time supporting a local good cause, such as Tavistock or Launceston food banks, Cornwall Air Ambulance and Duchy College in Stoke Climsland.

Ali added: “It is important to us to support the local communities where we work and we can do that by working with charities and offering our support and expertise to different groups.”

The awards night is due to be held at The Savoy Hotel in London on December 1.
